Professional Activities

Brian G. Steller is a certified Civil Trial Attorney. He focuses his practice on insurance defense and coverage, hotel liability, professional liability, and corporate liability matters. He presently serves as a Mediator and Arbitrator in the Firms Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) practice. He also serves as Connell Foley’s alternate contact with USLAW.

 

Mr. Steller has led a busy professional life and is currently the President of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates and serves on the Board of Directors for the National Organization. He has been a devoted member of the Essex County Bar Association, serving in a number of posts and committee positions over the years. These include trustee, secretary, treasurer, vice president, president-elect, President 2003-2004, and chairperson of various committees including the Joint Legal Medical Committee, the Civil Practice Committee, and the Annual Conference Committee. He is currently the chairperson of the Committee on Professionalism and is a fervent champion of its mission.

 

In April 2003, Mr. Steller was elected president of the Essex County Bar Association and was sworn into his post by then-New Jersey Supreme Court Associate Justice James R. Zazzali. Mr. Steller received the Civil Trial Attorney Achievement Award from the Essex County Bar Association in 1995. During the past 20 years, Mr. Steller has also served as a moderator and panelist for numerous Essex County Bar Association continuing legal education programs.

 

During law school, Mr. Steller clerked for the Newark firm of former Chief Justice James R. Zazzali. He began his legal career in 1982 as a Law Clerk to Essex County Superior Court Judge, the Honorable Murray G. Simon.
