Richard J. Badolato, during his 47 years of practice, has developed an expertise in civil trial litigation. His experience on the trial levels and appellate levels in both State and Federal Courts has included: medical, legal, and dental malpractice; products liability; all forms of general liability; construction litigation; automobile litigation; insurance coverage and policy interpretation; subrogation recovery, fire and theft losses; and declaratory judgment proceedings.

Mr. Badolato has represented many national and local insurance companies (life, health and property); self-insureds; manufacturers and distributors of various products including, but not limited to automobiles, brakes, ladders and scafforlding, boats, etc.; oil companies; doctors, dentists, lawyers, architects, engineers and accountants in defense of malpractice litigation, etc.

Mr. Badolato has been A.V. rated by Martindale-Hubbell since 1977. He has been named as Super Lawyer from 2005 to the present as a civil defense trial Lawyer. Mr. Badolato has served as President of the New Jersey State Bar Association from 2002 to 2003. He recently served as President of the New Jersey State Bar Foundation from 2009 to 2011. He also serves as Chairman for the Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Professional Ethics; is a committee member of the Supreme Court Professional Responsibility Rule Committee (2013); is a member of the Supreme Court's "E" Filing Committee and was a member of the Supreme Court's Advisory Committee for Mandatory CLE.

He also served as Chairman of the Supreme Court of New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law.

Mr. Badolato also has significant managerial experience having served as a member of the Executive Committee for the Insurance and Defense Sectioin at Connell Foley and has chaired a sub-section for the NJM Group for many years. He has served on the Hiring Committee from 1983-1989; hiring and managing partner for summer associates 1983-1991 and Secretarial Committee 1989-1995. Mr. Badolato is also the Past State Chair of the Fellows of the American Bar Foundation; he served as President of a local bar association (Essex County Bar Association) 1977-1978. He was also a Delegate to ABA House of Delegates 1978-1990.
