On Saturday, April 6, 2013, attorneys and staff members from Connell Foley will travel to Jersey City to work on Woman's Rising - a shelter for battered women and children.

For the past twelve years, Partner, John Murray has encouraged and guided Connell Foley attorneys and staff members to participate in and support Rebuilding Together Jersey City - initially working on single family houses.  As our experience and numbers grew we moved up to bigger projects including the Boys and Girls Club, Camp Liberty and St. Lucy’s Homeless Shelter.  This year, we have been assigned Woman’s Rising, a shelter for battered woman and children.  We previously worked at this shelter several years ago.

Rebuilding Together Jersey City (formerly known as Christmas in April Jersey City) is a non-profit organization that, in partnership with the community, rehabilitates the houses of low-income homeowners, particularly people who are physically challenged and elderly, and facilities of nonprofit organizations in need so that they may live in warmth, safety, and independence.  Since the Jersey City chapter began in 1991, Rebuilding Together Jersey City has made more than $2.9 million dollars worth of improvements to more than 313 homes and community facilities.
