New Jersey Site Remediation Reform Act (SRRA)
The SRRA was signed May 7, 2009 and NJDEP implementing rules will go into effect during the first week of November 2009. The SRRA takes steps to “privatize” site remediation approvals in New Jersey. Qualified private consultants will become Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRP’s) who will assume many of NJDEP’s oversight responsibilities including issuing what were formerly known as No Further Action Letters. NJDEP may review, audit and invalidate LSRP’s determinations in certain circumstances.
