Recognized as one of the premier litigation specialists in
New Jersey,
Connell Foley Partner
George J. Kenny was recognized for his 50 years in the
profession at the Essex County Bar Association (ECBA) Annual
Dinner on October 27, 2011.
Kenny,
who is a past president of the Association, focuses his
practice on insurance, product liability, professional
liability and general civil litigation.
A Certified Civil Trial Attorney, a Fellow of the
American College of Trial Lawyers, a Diplomate of the
American Board of Trial Advocates, he has tried hundreds of
diverse civil cases to verdict, and has briefed and argued
more than 70 New Jersey Appellate Division and Supreme Court
cases. He
created and co-authored the standard text, New Jersey
Insurance Law and since 1990, he has taught New Jersey
Practice at Rutgers University School of Law in
Newark.
According to Managing Partner Michael X. McBride, “Through
his example during 50 years with Connell Foley, George has
been a leader and a source of inspiration to our team.

experience and talent in the service of our clients.”
Notable
roles during his career include service to the American Bar
Association, service on the ABA Standing Committee on the
Federal Judiciary, which is charged with investigating and
evaluating the qualifications of all federal judicial
nominees, service on the Litigation Section’s Council,
Division Director, Chair of the Professional Liability
Litigation Committee, founding chair of its Insurance
Coverage Litigation Committee and the section’s liaison to
the ABA for attorney certification.
He has
served three terms as a trustee of the New Jersey State Bar
Association, has been a member and chair of a District
Ethics Committee, spent 15 years as chair of the New Jersey
Supreme Court Committee on Attorney Advertising and has
served as a member of the Court’s Professional
Responsibility Rules Committee.
