ABA TAPS GEORGE KENNY FOR PRESTIGIOUS JUDICIARY PANEL
William G. Paul, President of the American Bar Association, has appointed George J. Kenny, a partner in the firm, to a three-year term as the Third Circuit member of the ABA's Standing Committee on Federal Judiciary. This Committee evaluates and recommends to the President and the United States Senate whether prospective nominees for the United States Supreme Court, Circuit and District Court are qualified for appointment.
The Committee has been consulted by every President concerning virtually every federal judicial appointment since 1952, and the United States Senate, through the Senate Judiciary Committee, has been provided with the Committee's evaluation of every federal judicial nomination since 1948. The fifteen-member Committee is recognized as one of the most important in the American Bar Association.
Mr. Kenny presently serves on other ABA committees.
