Couch to Moderate Roundtable Discussion on Franchise Depositions

 

Roseland, NJ, April 9, 2008 Connell Foley’s Bryan P. Couch will moderate a roundtable discussion on franchise depositions at the International Franchise Association’s “41st Annual Legal Symposium” to be held May 11-13, 2008 at the Capitol Hilton in Washington, D.C. Mr. Couch will moderate a session entitled, Franchise Depositions: How to Take/Defend Franchise Depositions.

This roundtable discussion will cover such topics as strategies before, during and after the deposition, defending franchisors’ rights under their franchise agreements, and taking depositions related to termination and non-renewal of franchises. This and the other sessions at the symposium will benefit both attorneys and executives in the franchise industry, including in-house and outside counsel for franchisors and franchisees.

Mr. Couch is an associate at Connell Foley and practices primarily in the area of Business Litigation with a focus on franchise litigation. Mr. Couch is part of a practice group that represents franchisors in all aspects of the franchise relationship, including preparation of franchise circulars, state and federal regulatory matters, and litigation pertaining to franchises.

Mr. Couch is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. He is a member of the Essex County Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the American Bar Association and DRI (Defense Research Institute).

In 2000, Mr. Couch earned a Juris Doctor from the Seton Hall University School of Law where he was the Notes and Comments Editor of the Seton Hall University Journal of Sport Law and author of an article, How Agent Competition and Corruption Affects Sports and the Athlete-Agent Relationship and What Can Be Done to Control It, that appeared in the same publication. In 1997, Mr. Couch earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Fordham University.
