Connell Foley LLP Site Featured in Business Magazine

The following is an excerpt which appeared in the Summer 1996 issue of Business Edge, published by the New Jersey Public Service Electric and Gas Company. The article, entitled Hip or Hype? was about marketing in cyberspace.

Connell Foley LLP (Connell Foley LLP), a business and contract litigation firm in Roseland, New Jersey, had a similar beginning to (another organization). Peter Pizzi, an attorney with the firm, also browsed the Web.

By the time he was online--early 1995--he found several law firms offering their services on the Internet. When he discovered how little money and time were involved, getting his firm online was a logical, perhaps even necessary, choice.

Like other companies venturing into the Internet, Connell Foley LLP needed a way to stand out from the crowd of pages filling cyberspace every week. Pizzi registered a domain name (cfg-lawfirm.com, now connellfoley.com), a unique and memorable Internet address, for his firm. Like an "800" number that spells the company's name, a unique domain name is a valuable marketing tool because it makes it easier for customers to find your site.

Connell Foley LLP's page (http://www.connellfoley.com) offers areas describing recent achievements of the firm, a page of clients and "substantive background materials" about the firm, according to Pizzi. The original design was done by a Web design consultant, but Pizzi handles all the updates. The firm has only gotten a couple (of) clients from the page so far, but Pizzi hopes their presence on the Internet will increase the firm's visibility in the long run.
