PARTNER PAUL T. FADER APPOINTED TO SENATOR ROBERT G. TORRICELLI'S FEDERAL JUDICIAL NOMINATIONS COMMITTEE

PRESS RELEASE: May 31, 2000

Connell Foley LLP Partner Paul T. Fader, Esq. was recently appointed to Senator Robert G. Torricelli's Federal Judicial Nominations Committee. The Committee advises Senator Torricelli in recommending judicial nominees to the President of the Unites States for service on the Federal District Court of New Jersey. While the President of the United States makes the ultimate decision on which nomination to submit to the Senate for approval, the President, by tradition, has turned to the U.S. Senators of the state with the vacancy to submit a nominee, which the President, upon review, submits to the Senate. Senator Lautenberg and Senator Torricelli have alternated making such recommendations to President Clinton.

The Committee, which has been in place since Senator Torricelli took office, includes leading attorneys, academicians, and community leaders to help Senator Torricelli to place judges on the federal bench in New Jersey.

Paul T. Fader is a distinguished member of the bar in New Jersey. He is a graduate of Rutgers Law School and, before starting with Connell Foley LLP in 1989, served as a law clerk to the Honorable Silvia B. Pressler, the presiding judge of the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division. Mr. Fader became a partner at Connell Foley LLP in 1997 and is a member of the Bergen County and Essex County Bar Associations as well as the New Jersey State Bar Association. Mr. Fader's practice includes construction law, public contract law and litigation.
