Lacey Appears on Court TV to Discuss Jayson Williams' Retrial

Roseland, NJ, January 31, 2008 John P. Lacey, a former Assistant United States Attorney and chair of the Business Crimes and Regulatory Compliance division of Connell Foley's Business Litigation practice, recently appeared on Court TV to discuss the scheduled retrial of Jayson Williams.  Mr. Williams is the former professional basketball player charged with manslaughter in connection with the shooting death of limousine driver “Gus” Christofi.  Mr. Lacey represents Ken Culucko, a friend of Mr. Williams, who was credited with disclosing the truth about the incident after Mr. Williams attempted to make the shooting look like a suicide.  As a result of his cooperation, the state admitted Mr. Culucko into a pretrial intervention program and all charges against him were ultimately dismissed.

Mr. Lacey, who joined Connell Foley in 1991, has appeared as a Legal Analyst for MSNBC News and Court TV.  In addition to his practice in Business Litigation, he is a member of the firm's Labor and Employment Law, and Directors and Officers Litigation practices.  In 2002, the Essex County Bar Association named Mr. Lacey "Trial Attorney of the Year."  He is the former counsel for the New Jersey Republican State Committee, and a Trustee of The Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey.  Mr. Lacey is also a member of The Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey, and of the the New Jersey State and American Bar Associations.
