COURT DEALS A BLOW TO FAIR USE DEFENSE IN LITIGATION ABOUT GOOGLE IMAGE SEARCH

ROSELAND, NJ, May 1, 2006 - In a May 2, 2006 piece in the New York Law Journal entitled Google Image Search:  Court Deals A Blow To Fair Use In Adult Site Litigation, Peter J. Pizzi writes that the recent district court decision in Perfect 10 v. Google, Inc. denied Google Image Search the defense of fair use in the case of thumbnails of copyrighted images of female nudes.   In remains to be seen whether this decision will lead other courts to curtail the fair use defense for web search in other contexts.
