Partner Karen Painter Randall Selected by the New Jersey Law Journal as a Prominent Leader Among Women and Minority Attorneys in the State of New Jersey
ROSELAND, NJ, September 8, 2005 - Connell Foley partner Karen Painter Randall was chosen by New Jersey Law Journal for recognition in its special magazine, Women and Minorities in the Legal Profession (August 29, 2005). This annual issue features high-achieving women and minority lawyers at New Jersey law firms, at corporate legal departments and in government. Ms. Painter Randall is one of only 50 individuals selected for this prestigious honor. Selection criteria included: length of practice, demonstrated acumen in their field, success in making law, recognition as an authority, peer recognition, merit based memberships, bar association leadership and a demonstrated record of public service and pro bono activities.
Ms. Painter Randall joined Connell Foley in 1986 and currently serves as Co-Chair of the Professional Liability Litigation Practice Group. The Supreme Court of New Jersey, Board of Trial Attorney Certification designated Ms Painter Randall a Certified Civil Trial Attorney in 1992 in recognition of her established record of trial experience and professional accomplishments. Randall has developed a diverse practice that includes: business litigation, professional liability, director and officer, condominium association, negligence/product liability and insurance law in state and federal courts. The firm's Executive Committee has appointed her to several management-related firm committees, including: Strategic Planning Committee, Summer Associate and Law Clerk Selection Committees, Long Range Planning Committee, Business Development Committee, and Marketing Committee.
From 1984 - 1985, she clerked for the Honorable J. Emmet Cassidy, Presiding Judge, Law Division of Bergen County.
Ms. Painter Randall has demonstrated her commitment to professional responsibility by holding various leadership positions with the American Bar Association. From 2000-2004 she served as Co-Chair and Panelist on the Section of Litigation, Insurance Coverage Professional Liability Subcommittee, speaking on issues ranging from construction defect claims, legal malpractice, elder abuse claims and ERISA. In 2004 she was appointed Co-Chair of the Directors and Officers Subcommittee by the American Bar Association's leadership. In 2005, she served as a panelist speaking on Director and Officer Coverage and Claim Issues at the ABA Midyear meeting in Tucson, Arizona.
Ms Painter Randall formally served as Vice-Chair, Hospital Center at Orange Foundation. She also served on the Board of Directors and Advisors for Colburn Insurance Services form 1997-1999. She was selected for membership to NJ 300, a group of the State's top women executives. Ms. Painter Randall was voted as a New Jersey Super Lawyer by New Jersey Monthly magazine in May 2005. She was voted as one of the Top 100 Super Lawyers as well as one of the Top 50 Female Super Lawyer in New Jersey.
She is also active at the local level, appointed to the Judicial Performance Committee by the Bergen County Bar Association.
