Tom Sparno Named to New Jersey Law Journal''s "40 Under 40" List

ROSELAND, August 27, 2002. The August 27, 2002 issue of the New Jersey Law Journal published a list of the top young lawyers in the New Jersey Connell Foley's Tom Sparno was named to the list. According to the Law Journal's publisher, the 40 lawyers on the list are people "worth watching not only for what they have achieved so far in their careers but more so for the potential they show to be among the leaders of the New Jersey bar in the next decade."

Tom Sparno attended Washington University and Cornell Law School and has been with the firm since 1994, after completing a judicial clerkship with Judge David S. Baime, J.A.D. Here is how the Law Journal described Tom:

"A Connell Foley member for a year, 34-year-old Sparno is one, of two partners in charge of defending Novartis Consumer Health Inc, in mass tort litigation involving phenylpropanolamine, a cough medicine ingredient allegedly linked to strokes. Sparno is regional counsel for Evenflo, the baby products manufacturer. In July, in an appeal he argued successfully, Hinojo v. New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Co., the New Jersey Appellate Division reversed a $675,000 award to a factory worker who lost part of a finger in a punch press. Sparno is a member of the New Jersey Defense Association's product liability committee and the District Ethics Committee (V-C) for Essex County."
