Allyson Kasetta assists residential, commercial and industrial developers in the full range of land use, development, redevelopment and permitting matters. She regularly guides clients through the development process, including site plan approvals, subdivision approvals, variances and permits from various state agencies. Allyson also has a thorough knowledge of redevelopment law and frequently navigates projects through the process from designation as an area in need of redevelopment through adoption of a redevelopment plan and negotiation of a redeveloper’s agreement. With direct experience representing municipal planning and zoning boards, Allyson has a unique perspective on the interactions between developers and the approving authorities, as well as a familiarity with the practices and procedures of many different municipalities.
Allyson’s experience in land use development and redevelopment matters includes obtaining approvals for major projects in Bergen County, where she began her career. Other noteworthy development projects on which she advised are a distribution facility in Jersey City for a well-known international courier and a landmark office building in Morristown. She is currently assisting on a major redevelopment project for a property located in Clifton and Nutley, where the approval process is proceeding concurrently in both municipalities.
As a litigator, Allyson challenges and defends local land use board decisions in the Superior Court of New Jersey. She has successfully litigated actions arising from land use decisions in municipalities throughout northern New Jersey on behalf of both developers and municipal land use boards.
