Overview

Thomas Blewitt practices primarily in the areas of commercial litigation, banking law, creditors’ rights and ERISA litigation. Having represented financial institutions, he has extensive experience in the areas of check fraud, unauthorized banking transactions and other banking issues arising under the Uniform Commercial Code. Tom also represents businesses in diverse industries with commercial litigation needs in the state and federal courts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. His experience handling commercial disputes covers a wide range or contract, fraud, and business tort cases.

  • Represents a banking institution in a dispute regarding a corporate trustee’s duty to administer the trust in accordance with Pennsylvania law
  • Represents insurance companies in banking related subrogation cases
  • Represents banking institutions defending claims by customers regarding allegedly unauthorized electronic transfers and forged checks
  • Represents a business defending a claim by a former insurance broker for unpaid insurance commissions
  • Represented a non-resident American citizen being sued in federal court by a European banking institution
  • Represented a banking institution seeking to enforce the terms of a title insurance policy
