Karen will be honored at the ILTA Distinguished Peer Awards ceremony on May 1, 2026, in Denver, Colorado, where honorees’ professional achievements, leadership, mentorship and future goals will be formally recognized alongside their peers and professional colleagues
Karen is recognized for her innovative approach and leadership as founder and chair of Connell Foley’s Cybersecurity, Privacy, and AI Risk Group, where she also leads the firm’s 24/7 Breach Response Team. She advises organizations across a wide range of industries on cyber risk management and resiliency, incident response, data privacy, and the responsible integration of artificial intelligence.
Beyond her practice, Karen plays a significant role in advancing legal technology and cybersecurity through her service on the American Bar Association’s Cybersecurity Legal Task Force, her involvement with New Jersey State Bar AI and Cybersecurity committees, and her work in academia serving as founder and director of a law school task force, annual cybersecurity Institute and adjunct professor. Through these roles, she continues to shape policy, education, and innovation across all sectors including the legal profession.
