Connell Foley Partner George Garcia Featured in NJLJ “Diverse Attorney of the Year” Q&A

George Garcia, Partner and Co-Chair of Connell Foley’s Real Estate and Land Use Group, was recently named to the New Jersey Law Journal’s (NJLJ) 2025 Diverse Attorneys of the Year list. This distinction honors diverse attorneys who have made a meaningful impact in their respective fields over the past two years.

As an honoree, George was featured in an NJLJ Q&A, where he reflected on his career accomplishments and offered advice for the next generation of attorneys. Among the achievements he highlighted was his work on the transformative SoHo West redevelopment in Jersey City, a project he views as a testament to how thoughtful planning can revitalize communities.

George shared that “making a difference” means creating tangible, lasting change. His work in land redevelopment has touched thousands of lives and he takes pride in knowing his efforts directly shape the way people experience their communities.

He offered advice for young attorneys, emphasizing the importance of drive and flexibility early in one’s career to foster growth and learning. George also emphasized the role of mentorship and camaraderie in helping law firms and organizations develop and retain top talent.
