Overview
Richard Marrin has extensive international legal experience, having conducted business in sixty-plus countries across six continents over the past three decades. He has developed a deep understanding of diverse legal environments in various sectors. Richard specializes in assisting clients with both inbound and outbound business transactions, corporate and commercial investments, joint ventures, and disputes. This background provides a unique perspective for clients engaged in cross-border business activities.
In addition, Richard represents businesses of all sizes, both domestic and foreign, across all aspects of business and corporate law. He provides comprehensive counsel, including business formation, acquisitions and sales, senior management agreements, employment claims, intellectual property and licensing, commercial real estate, franchise and development agreements, and global expansion. Richard negotiates, structures, drafts, and monitors joint venture agreements for market-leading companies from the US, Middle East, Europe, Africa, and Asia. He helps clients decrease venture risks and increase the probability of achieving the intended economic benefits.
Richard also offers specialized governance, compliance, and risk management services, advising clients on corporate structures, insurance, cybersecurity, and other mitigation strategies. He has a deep understanding of US and non-US anti-bribery and anti-corruption legislation, including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), know-your-client (KYC), anti-money laundering (AML) and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
With strong skills in planning, analysis, communication, and execution, along with a solid foundation in legal and business knowledge, Richard is well-equipped to serve as outside general counsel for companies across various industries. He provides strategic advice and daily guidance on business transactions, operations, corporate governance, compliance, risk management, and dispute resolution. He has extensive experience representing clients in state and federal courts and in international and domestic arbitration.
