Daniel Johnston litigates on behalf of insurance companies across a wide range of matters, including premises and auto liability, labor law, construction, product liability, employment and contract issues. He also represents carriers in relation to coverage litigation and commercial litigation.
Prior to joining Connell Foley, Dan was an associate at two different litigation boutiques, where he appeared nearly daily in the state and federal courts for hearings, oral arguments or settlement conferences. Dan also previously served as an Assistant District Attorney in Nassau County, prosecuting well over a thousand cases to disposition. Prior to admission, he was a Law Clerk in the Legal Department of Fannie Mae.
Dan is a cum laude graduate of the George Washington University School of Law, where he received the Pamela Spanogle International Commercial Arbitration award. He was both a Mock Trial and Alternative Dispute Resolution Board member. Dan was also a student practitioner with the Federal Appellate Criminal clinic, drafting appeals and delivering oral arguments on behalf of indigent clients. Dan is a 2018 graduate of the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) Trial Academy at Stanford Law School.
