Edmund J. Caulfield



Edmund Caulfield is an experienced litigator with a successful track record in a wide variety of civil litigation in New Jersey and New York state and federal courts. Edmund routinely handles civil disputes in subject areas as diverse as insurance coverage, complex commercial, products liability, insurance defense, and estate and probate matters. He has litigated numerous substantial and complex matters and is experienced in all aspects of litigation, including initial case assessment, fact and expert discovery, motion practice, alternative dispute resolution and trial preparation.

Prior to joining Connell Foley, he served as a legal intern in the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey and participated in the Seton Hall Juvenile Justice Clinic. He previously served as an intern in the chambers of the Honorable Mark Falk, U.S.M.J. in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.


Representative Experience

  • Counseling and representing insurers on complex insurance coverage issues including bad faith, commercial and excess liability, construction defect, professional liability, directors and officers liability and environmental claims
  • Representing a major health care company in New Jersey as the lead associate on a multi-million dollar commercial litigation seeking damages for breach of an agreement involving the sale of a New Jersey hospital
  • Handling a variety of matters seeking emergent equitable relief in the Chancery Division of the New Jersey Superior Court, including commercial landlord/tenant disputes and disputes involving membership in private associations
  • Defending an international corporation in several actions in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and Superior Court of New Jersey as relating to product liability claims
