James Ward is an associate practicing in Connell Foley's Environmental Law Group. His background includes land use, zoning and development matters, including state and municipal approvals to develop properties into industrial, commercial and residential uses. He also advises on the allocation of environmental liabilities in real estate transactions.
During law school, James interned at Pace University’s Environmental Litigation Clinic where he helped assess the adequacy of New York City’s long-term control plans to address combined sewage overflow. Through additional internships, he helped develop coastal resiliency planning tools, prepared legal memoranda regarding major land use and environmental laws in New York, and other litigation documents in land use disputes.
James received his L.L.M magna cum laude and J.D. cum laude in 2018 from Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University. He graduated with a B.A. in Environmental Studies and a minor in Political Science from Pace University, Dyson School of Arts and Science in 2014.
