April 18, 2017 - Jennifer C. Critchley, a commercial litigation partner in the Newark office of Connell Foley LLP, has been named to the Board of Trustees of the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey (AFBNJ). Ms. Critchley will officially take office during the AFBNJ’s annual William J. Brennan, Jr. Award Reception, which will be held on June 15, 2017 at Mayfair Farms in West Orange. AFBNJ president Sabrina Comizzoli will also be sworn in at the Reception, as will treasurer Ricardo Solano Jr. and additional trustees Jemi Lucey and Fabiana Pierre-Louis.
The AFBNJ serves attorneys who practice in the District of New Jersey’s three vicinages: Newark, Trenton and Camden. Their aim is to facilitate dialogue on issues of court administration and federal practice, and to support America’s oldest undivided district court and the attorneys who practice there by offering educational, training and social events throughout the year. This year’s William J. Brennan, Jr. Award will be presented to The Honorable Paul J. Fishman, former United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey. Three local law students will be presented with John J. Barry Memorial Scholarships. Ms. Critchley has substantial experience representing corporate clients in complex business disputes. Often working closely with companies — particularly emerging businesses — as an outside general counsel, she advises on a range of legal issues, from reviewing contracts and registering trademarks, to real estate transactions and intellectual property disputes. With experience in both federal and New Jersey and New York state courts, she has successfully represented large corporations as well as smaller businesses in commercial litigations involving contract disputes, construction claims, unfair competition and trade libel. She also handles diverse matters involving fraud disputes, including check fraud litigations, class actions involving New Jersey’s Consumer Fraud Act and its Truth-in-Consumer Contract, Warranty and Notice Act, and patent infringements.
