ROSELAND, N.J./February 17, 2006 -- Connell Foley announced today that counsel Steve Barnett has been elected Chairman of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Region II/New Jersey Industry Communication Alliance (NJICA).

In March 2002, OSHA and the member organizations entered into this Alliance Program. This cooperative program enables organizations committed to safety and health to work with OSHA to prevent injuries, illnesses, and fatalities in the workplace. OSHA and Alliance Program participants work together to reach out to, educate, and lead the nation's employers and their employees in advancing workplace safety and health. Groups that can form an Alliance with OSHA include employers, labor unions, trade or professional groups, government agencies, and educational institutions.

Philip M. Peist, Area Director of OSHA's Parsippany, N.J. Area Office, commented, "Under Edd Hogan's leadership, the OSHA/New Jersey Industry Communication Alliance has made significant inroads with our members in advancing workplace safety and health. As we turn over the leadership to Steve Barnett, we look forward to the continued success of our program, specifically educating and empowering our members to prevent injuries, illnesses, and fatalities in the workplace."
