Karen Painter Randall, Chair of Connell Foley's Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Group, is presenting at the 2020 Cyber, Management & Professional Liability Conference, hosted by the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM).  With the number of cyber insurance claims growing at a pace unlike other types of insurance, Karen and her co-presenters will discuss "Current Trends and Issues in Cyber Claims, Third Party Litigation and Biometric Discrimination." Their program will be held on July 8th at 12:30 - 1:30 pm.

As noted by CLM, cyber insurance claims are a "consequence of billions on connected devices, the incalculable value of digital data and the evolutions of the law." Cyber claims continue to evolve as threats to insureds constantly change. Ransomware and other forms of malware are becoming more virulent, leading to more severe claims, including business interruption losses.

Joined by Dianna McCarthy of Winget, Spadafora & Schwartzberg and Kenneth Williams of Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection & Insurance Company, Karen and her panel will discuss relevant cyber coverages available in the marketplace, as well as ransomware attacks, data compromise, third-party cyber litigation trends and recent activity related to biometric discrimination. They will also provide tips on how to avoid and/or manage cyber incidents effectively.
