On September 10, the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) Northern New Jersey Chapter held their Annual Fall Dinner Meeting at The Highlawn in West Orange. ABOTA launched the Brian G. Steller Scholarship at Seton Hall University School of Law in recognition of Connell Foley partner and ABOTA member Brian G. Steller’s time, service, and dedication to Seton Hall Law and its students in need of financial assistance. Brian, a 1982 graduate of Seton Hall Law, has been reviewing applications and interviewing students for ABOTA’s scholarship for the past 15 years.

Starting in early 2027, NNJ-ABOTA will invite applications from students who demonstrate an interest in trial practice, strong academic performance, and financial need. The first Brian G. Steller Scholarship will be awarded in spring 2027.

ABOTA is an invitation-only national organization of plaintiff and defense attorneys dedicated to the preservation and protection of the Seventh Amendment right of Americans. Brian previously served as ABOTA Northern New Jersey’s President from 2008-2010 and has served on the ABOTA National Board of Directors since 2006. He is also a Founder of the ABOTA National Trial College, which has been conducted at Princeton University, Harvard Law School, Yale Law School, and recently, Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law.
