Steve Barnett Named A Member of the New Jersey State Industrial Safety Committee

ROSELAND, N.J./June 15, 2006 -- The Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development has appointed Connell Foley counsel Steve Barnett to be a member of the New Jersey State Industrial Safety Committee. The New Jersey State Industrial Safety Committee is established within the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development. The Committee membership is comprised of persons who have taken a prominent part in the field of accident prevention, or are responsible for accident prevention matters in the organization in which they are employed. The function of the committee is to advise the commissioner and the board with respect to rules and regulations proposed to be adopted under this act, and to advise the commissioner on matters of safety promotion and accident prevention.

Steve practiced as a professional engineer and Certified Industrial Hygienist prior to attending law school. He recently returned to Connell Foley after serving as Counsel−Health, Safety, & Environment for specialty chemicals company Elementis. His practice includes regulatory compliance advice, litigation, and drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
