Karen Randall Receives ABA Presidential Appointment to Standing Committee on Lawyers’ Professional Liability

Roseland, New Jersey - September 2, 2014 - Connell Foley LLP is proud to announce that firm partner Karen Painter Randall was appointed by the President of the American Bar Association (ABA) to the Standing Committee on Lawyers’ Professional Liability.  The Standing Committee is tasked with keeping the ABA, state and local bar associations and the insurance industry apprised of issues regarding the professional liability of lawyers and related liability insurance concerns, as well as making recommendations for risk management programs that address professional liability claims.  Ms. Randall was appointed to the two-year term that will expire in 2016.

Ms. Randall serves as Chair of the Professional Liability and Directors and Officers Practice Groups at Connell Foley LLP. She provides counseling, representation and advocacy services to a wide range of professionals in complex litigation, including attorneys and judicial professionals, design professionals, architects/engineers, insurance agents and brokers, real estate brokers, agents and inspectors, security brokers and investment advisors, accountants, directors and officers and other professionals in federal and state court and before the United States Supreme Court.

In addition, Ms. Randall represents clients in complex litigation involving cyber security, employment law, business litigation, construction law, insurance law and product liability.  She is designated as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney by the New Jersey Supreme Court and is admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court, U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and State of New Jersey.

Ms. Randall has been repeatedly tapped for key leadership positions by state and national organizations, including the ABA, New Jersey State Bar Association, Bergen County Bar Association, Defense Research Institute, USLAW Network, Inc., Claims and Litigation Management Alliance, and National Association of Women Lawyers.  Recognized as a thought leader, Ms. Randall lectures and writes regularly on business litigation, professional liability and director and officer issues ranging from risk management to defense and coverage issues.
