Leo J. Hurley Jr., Co-Chair of Connell Foley's Commercial Litigation Group and a Partner in the Cannabis Law Group, and Lauren Iannaccone, an associate in the Labor and Employment and Cannabis Law Groups, present "Marijuana and its Effect on the Workplace," for New Jersey Business & Industry Association's (NJBIA) Human Resource Council Meeting on May 13, 2021.

In 2020, over two-thirds of New Jersey voters supported legalizing the possession and use of recreational marijuana for persons aged 21 and over. However, unfettered access to this substance will create a host of challenges and questions for employers going forward.  Leo and Lauren will discuss the impact medicinal marijuana, and the legalization of recreational marijuana, have on the workplace. They will also provide an overview of the relevant laws, as well as recommendations for employers’ best practices.
