Karen Randall Presents on the Ransomware Threat Landscape and Mitigation Strategies for Municipalities

Karen Painter Randall, Chair of Connell Foley's Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Group, joins a panel of cybersecurity experts at the New Jersey League of Municipalities' 104th Annual Conference – the largest municipal conference in the country. The NJLM Conference 2019, held at the Atlantic City Convention Center Nov. 19-21, gathers municipal officials together with a theme of "Igniting Local Engagement."

Karen and her co-panelists present "Guarding Against Ransomware" on Wednesday, November 20. They will examine the current cyber threat landscape and provide best practice tips for preventing and responding to ransomware attacks, including whether or not to pay a ransom. The panel also will discuss transferring the risk and proper insurance coverage for these extortion attacks. Joining Karen in the discussion are Shiraz Saeed, National Practice Leader, Starr Cyber Risk; Keith Novak, Associate Managing Director, Kroll Cyber Risk; Marlee Mukai, FBI, Special Agent, Newark Division Cyber Task Force; and Howard Panensky, Senior Broker, Cyber Product Solutions, Willis Towers Watson.
