Karen Painter Randall, Chair of Connell Foley's Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Group, is presenting the webinar "Pandemic Cybersecurity, Ethics, and Loss Prevention: Finding a New Normal." Co-sponsored by the University of South Carolina School of Law Cybersecurity Legal Task Force and The American Bar Association Cybersecurity Legal Task Force, the webinar examines the ethical and legal responsibilities that lawyers and law firms have to clients in today’s digital world -- particularly as a growing number of employees work from home due to COVID-19.

Karen, who is the director of the UofSC Cybersecurity Legal Task Force and also a member of the ABA Cybersecurity Legal Task Force, is joined in the presentation by Ruth Hill Bro, Co-Chair, American Bar Association Cybersecurity Legal Task Force, and Lucian T. Pera, Partner, Adams and Reese LLP.

The panelists will discuss:

  • How to ensure your and your employees’ “home offices” are as secure as your main office
  • How to spot the tell-tale signs of phishing and other ransomware attempts
  • What to do if you lose your phone or laptop
  • What to do if a cyberattack is successful

This webinar is approved for 1.5 hours of Ethics CLE credit.
