Karen Randall Receives UofSC College of Arts and Sciences Dean's Award

Connell Foley LLP is pleased to announce that Karen Painter Randall, Chair of Connell Foley’s Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Group, has been named the recipient of the 2020 College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Award from the University of South Carolina. Karen will be presented the Award at the Recognition of Excellence Dinner on Friday, April 3, 2020 at the Riverbanks Zoo and Gardens in Columbia, SC.

Karen attended the University of South Carolina and received her B.A. from the school's Honors College, and subsequently obtained her M.A. in Public Administration. She received her J.D. at the University of South Carolina School of Law while serving as a law clerk to the former Governor Richard Riley. Karen continues to be very active with her alma mater, often presenting and speaking at various educational events. She was appointed by the School of Law to lead its Cybersecurity Legal Task Force and serve as Director of the National Cybersecurity Institute, which was recently held at the law school. The Task Force is comprised of national leaders in cybersecurity, including the DHS/CISA, FBI, and the legal, insurance, security/forensics, artificial intelligence and other sectors.

The annual Recognition of Excellence Dinner acknowledges distinguished alumni and friends of the College of Arts and Sciences who have demonstrated outstanding achievement or service to the College, to their profession or to society. Recipients are joined by an esteemed group of honorees who are leaders in industry, the arts, nonprofits and government.
