Michael Rolek, an Associate in Connell Foley's Commercial Litigation Group, has been appointed to The Scholarship Fund for Inner-City Children's (SFIC) Board of Trustees, making him the youngest person to hold this position in all of SFIC's history.

Mike has been an active member of the SFIC Board of Associates for the past four years.  In November 2020, in conjunction with SFIC, Mike single-handedly raised over $10,000 for SFIC in less than 30 days by running the perimeter of Manhattan (over 32 miles).

“We are so excited to have Mike join our Board,” SFIC CEO Dr. Michelle Hartman stated. “Mike has been dedicated to SFIC for many years, and I know he will continue to contribute greatly to helping educate the student of the Archdiocese of Newark. I am honored to be working with him.”

Established in 1983, SFIC has given over $45 million in scholarship support to students in New Jersey. Every scholarship is given exclusively on a needs-based basis. Applicant families must be ready to provide proof of income and have an intention to attend one of the schools within the four counties that SFIC serves. Students that go to the schools that SFIC works with have fantastic test scores and much higher rates of graduation and college placement than their peers attending public school.
