Print PDF

Charles (“Chuck”) Harrington, a partner in Connell Foley LLP’s Real Estate and Land Use Group, in July 2024 won final approval from Jersey City’s Planning Board for “Harborside 9,” a 57-story mixed-use high-rise that will replace a parking lot a block away from the Hudson River at 2 Second Street.

On track to change Jersey City’s skyline, Harborside 9 will include 579 residential units, 87 (15%) of which will be restricted as affordable income units. The unit mix will consist of 96 of the residential units being studios, 307 will be one-bedrooms, 166 will be two-bedrooms, and 10 will be three-bedroom units.

There will be commercial space on Harborside 9’s ground floor and the floors above will include the main amenity section, which will include indoor fitness areas, a game room, and co-working space along with an outdoor deck that includes a pool.

Harborside 9 will also include 300 spots for bicycles and an enclosed parking garage with 555 parking spaces.

The building will be 607-feet tall, and is the second phase to the previously approved adjacent Harborside 8 development, a 68-story, 680-unit development that was approved by Jersey City in 2020.
