Connell Foley LLP is pleased to announce that Patrick C. Dunican Jr. has joined the firm as a Partner in the Corporate Practice Group. At Connell Foley, Dunican will focus on law firm consulting, expert opinion, risk management, and higher education governance, while also supporting the firm's business development and client relationship initiatives.

Dunican previously served as Managing Director and Executive Chairperson at Gibbons P.C. for 18 years, where he guided the firm's strategic vision, operational leadership, and long-term growth. During his tenure, he successfully navigated the firm through multiple economic cycles while improving firm culture and enhancing client service delivery. Dunican started as an associate in 1992 after serving as the Editor-in-Chief of the Seton Hall Law Review and working as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Clarkson S. Fisher.

"Pat's addition to our partnership represents a significant milestone for him and Connell Foley," said Timothy E. Corriston, Managing Partner of Connell Foley LLP. "His reputation as a 'lawyer's lawyer' and his extensive network across legal, business, government and academic sectors will be invaluable as we continue to expand our capabilities and provide comprehensive business and legal solutions to our clients' complex challenges."

"I am excited to join Connell Foley at this pivotal time in the firm's growth," said Dunican. “Connell Foley’s dedication to client service and its collaborative culture are closely aligned with my professional values, establishing an effective partnership for both existing and prospective clients. I look forward to contributing to the firm's continued success."

Dunican brings unique experience in higher education governance, having served over 13 years on Iona University's Board of Legal Trustees, including as Chair from 2020-2022. He led transformational initiatives including the institution's transition from college to university status and the acquisition of the Bronxville campus. He also served 20 years on Seton Hall Law School's Board of Visitors, serving as a founding member and Chairman and helping elevate it to become New Jersey's top-ranked law school.

His exceptional track record of law firm leadership, combined with his expertise in crisis management, strategic planning, and relationship building, has led Dunican to be consistently recognized by leading legal publications, including selection for Best Lawyers in America and New Jersey and New York Metro Super Lawyers. He has been honored by the New Jersey Law Journal, NJBIZ, ROI-NJ, and the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law for his contributions to the legal profession and community involvement.
