Michael A. Shadiack Featured Speaker on Employment Law for the National Business Institute

ROSELAND, N.J./June 13, 2012 -- Connell Foley’s Michael A. Shadiack, a partner in the firm’s Labor and Employment Law practice group, was a featured speaker at a full-day continuing legal education seminar, “Employment Laws Made Simple,” held on June 13 in Newark, New Jersey. 

Mr. Shadiack discussed employment best practices for employers to implement so as to limit the risk from lawsuits and government investigations. In addition, Shadiack provided hot tips for employers to maximize the benefits of an employee handbook and to avoid common drafting errors. The seminar was attended by in-house counsel, human resources professionals, and high level executives from numerous organizations. 

While representing private and public sector employers, nonprofits, and institutions of higher education, Shadiack engages in proactive compliance counseling on personnel and benefit issues, prepares comprehensive and practical employee handbooks and employment agreements, conducts training on workplace harassment prevention as well as other employment best practices, and defends employers in litigation before state and federal courts and administrative agencies. 

Shadiack is an accomplished author, and he presents nationally and regionally as a featured speaker on traditional and cutting edge employment topics. He is a member of the American Bar Association, New Jersey State Bar Association (Labor and Employment Law Section), Morris County Bar Association (Labor and Employment Law Section), and USLAW Network (Employment Practice Group). Shadiack has been recognized as a New Jersey Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2009, 2011, and 2012.
