Roseland, NJ (November 28, 2012) - Connell Foley partner Michael A. Shadiack presented at the New Jersey Business & Industry Association's (NJBIA) "Hiring and Firing Dos and Don'ts" held on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Forsgate Country Club in Monroe, New Jersey.  The program addressed hiring and the documentation of hiring including: advertising of the position and recruitment of applicants; the application itself; use of social media to screen applicants; interviews, background checks; making an offer and conditional offers; and the orientation of the new employee.  In addition, Mr. Shadiack discussed discipline and firing of employees including: documentation; consistency of discipline; personnel files; common errors made; tips to minimize liability; and notifying the employee of the termination.  For additional information, feel free to contact Michael A.
