Michael Shadiack Presents to National Audience on Hot Tips for Employers When Preparing an Employee Handbook

ROSELAND, N.J./June 13, 2011 -- Connell Foley partner Michael A. Shadiack was a featured presenter during the USLAW Network’s nation-wide webinar “Employee Handbooks: Hot Tips for Employers to Maximize the Benefits and to Avoid Common Drafting Errors,” held  on June 13, 2011.

The webinar focused on empowering human resource professionals and management representatives with the knowledge and tools to formulate and implement a practical and effective employee handbook, and effectively manage employees, in compliance with federal and state employment laws. Shadiack discussed the numerous ways that a clearly-worded and well-organized employee handbook will benefit an organization, and provided practical advice for drafting and updating an employee handbook.

Shadiack is a member of the firm's Labor and Employment Law practice group, who practices exclusively in the areas of labor and employment law on behalf of management in the private and public sectors, in addition he represents non-profit organizations and institutions of higher education. He provides employers with pro-active and preventative compliance counseling on personnel and benefit issues to ensure compliance with statutory and common law requirements, as well as prepares comprehensive and practical employment agreements and employee handbooks tailored to each employer’s specific needs. Shadiack also conducts training on workplace harassment prevention.
