Steve Barnett Rejoins Connell Foley as Counsel

ROSELAND,  N.J./August 2005 -- Connell Foley announces that Steve Barnett has joined the firm as counsel in its Roseland, New Jersey Office. Mr. Barnett's practice focuses on occupational and environmental health law, as well as environmental law.

Previously, Mr. Barnett served as Counsel−Health, Safety & Environment for the British specialty chemicals concern Elementis, where he had global responsibilities for litigation, mergers and acquisitions, contracts, real property, and regulatory compliance. During his four years with Elementis, he resolved numerous product liability, toxic tort and environmental cases, HSE regulatory matters, and resulting insurance and indemnity claims on favorable terms for the company. He also managed and supported transactions ranging in value from $1 million to $60 million. For six years prior to joining Elementis, Mr. Barnett was an associate with Connell Foley.

Mr. Barnett was graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering and received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Colorado−Boulder. He holds a Master of Science in Public Health from the University of Utah, he is registered as a professional engineer in New Jersey and Colorado, and he is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) qualified in the comprehensive practice of industrial hygiene by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene. He was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force with the rank of Captain after serving as a bioenvironmental engineer.
