Timothy Corriston, a partner in Connell Foley’s Environmental and Mass and Toxic Tort Groups, is serving as special counsel to the Borough of Edgewater, New Jersey, in an ongoing dispute involving the contamination of the town’s Veterans Field park.  In 2011, the Borough proposed a multi-million dollar project to reconstruct Veterans Field.  However, in September 2013, it was discovered that the contractor on the project utilized PCB-contaminated fill material in the park.  The Borough has brought suit in federal court against the following parties for their involvement in connection with the contamination at Veterans Field: Waterside Construction, LLC; 38 COAH, LLC; Daibes Brothers, Inc; North River Mews Associates, LLC; Fred A. Daibes; Terms Environmental Services, Inc.; Aluminum Company of America (“ALCOA”); and A.P. New Jersey, Inc.

The issue has garnered substantial press, including the following articles:

“Edgewater replaces original firm hired to clean up park contamination”

“Edgewater may rehire firm that dumped tainted concrete”

“Edgewater going to court over contamination”

“Edgewater readies legal action over pollution during Veterans Field rehab”

“Contaminated material needs to be removed in Edgewater”
