Michael A. Shadiack, chair of Connell Foley's Labor & Employment Group, is quoted extensively in a New Jersey Law Journal article titled "As Sick Leave Law Debuts, Confusion Remains on Finer Points" (November 1, 2018).

With New Jersey's Paid Sick Leave Act going into effect on October 29, 2018, the law requires employers to provide up to 40 hours of paid sick leave per year to full- and part-time employees. In this article, Mike discusses what changes employers need to make, how to be proactive and the importance of updating employee handbooks to adjust to the new law.
