Overview
Erica Gbur practices in the areas of insurance defense, Labor Law and construction litigation, trademark and copyright litigation, premises liability, and general negligence. Prior to joining Connell Foley, she clerked for the Honorable Annette Scoca of the New Jersey Superior Court – Essex County Civil Division.
While in law school, Erica was a member of the Intellectual Property Law Clinic in Bloomington, Indiana, where she advised clients in the trademark and patent application process and handled litigation at TTAB and in federal district courts. She also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Lisa D. Sirkin at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in New York, and for the Honorable Pamela K. Chen of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
Erica received her J.D., cum laude, from Indiana University Maurer School of Law, where she was Order of the Barristers, a Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship scholar, received the Pro Bono Service Award, and was active in moot court competitions and pro bono projects. Erica also was a certified legal intern for Indiana University Student Legal Services, providing case management services and trial representation. She represented students in matters involving personal injury claims, landlord-tenant disputes, contract disputes, and name change applications. While interning, Erica conducted her first trial, winning a judgment for a tenant against his landlord.
