Business for Breakfast: New Jersey's New Equal Pay Act: Are You At Risk?

Connell Foley LLP - Roseland Office

Print PDF
On July 1, 2018, the Diane B. Allen Equal Pay Act became effective, giving New Jersey employees the broadest equal pay protection in the country. The Act prohibits employers from paying less compensation to an employee in a protected class than the amount paid to other employees who perform "substantially similar work." The Act will make it easier for employees in protected classes (including sex, race, national origin and disability) to prove disparate pay claims.

Please join Connell Foley's Labor & Employment Group for a review of the recent sweeping changes to New Jersey pay equity law and a discussion of steps employers should take now to minimize their exposure.
Our Business for Breakfast program will address:
  • Key components of the Act
  • Available defenses
  • Overview of best practices
  • Open discussion of business challenges and considerations
