Karen Painter Randall, co-chair of Connell Foley’s Cyber Security & Data Privacy and Professional Liability Groups, is a featured speaker at the 5th Annual ASU-Arkfeld eDiscovery and Digital Evidence Conference, which will be held on March 9-11, 2016 in Tempe, Arizona. This three-day conference focuses on the practical and cutting-edge issues affecting electronic information, information governance and data analytics. This year’s theme is “Respect the Past. Understand the Present. Shape the Future!” Leading jurists, attorneys, and legal and technological professionals will explore a wide array of eDiscovery issues, examining established precedent and projected new challenges, current and emerging technologies, and everything in between. Ms. Randall is a panel speaker on “The First 72 Hours: Responding to a Data Breach Quickly and Effectively to Minimize Risk and Get Back to Business,” which will be held on Day 2 of the conference. This session will walk through the implementation of an effective incident response plan based upon a data breach fact pattern. Ms. Randall, along with the other panelists, will discuss the roles and responsibilities of each member of the incident response team, including senior management, legal counsel, information systems personnel, privacy/security officers, compliance officers, public relations, and third-party vendors/consultants.
