Steve Barnett, a partner in Connell Foley’s Environmental Law Group, is a panelist at the National Forum for Environmental and Toxic Tort Issues’ (FETTI) 23rd Annual Conference.  The 2-day program, which will be held September 21-23, 2016 in Chicago, covers a broad range of environmental issues with nationally recognized speakers. The seminar is designed to provide attendees with informative and provocative programs on the ever-changing environmental and toxic tort issues they face in their professions.

Mr. Barnett will provide a presentation on “Industrial Hygiene State-of-the-Art in Asbestos and Toxic Tort Claims.”  He will discuss such issues as:

  • Industrial hygiene (anticipation, recognition, evaluation and control of workplace hazards) and how and when it evolved
  • Legal standards such as strict liability and negligence and how they involve industrial hygiene state-of-the-art
  • Examples of industrial hygiene state of the art in asbestos and other toxic tort cases

The Annual FETTI Conference provides Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for insurance claims handlers, Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits for attorneys and networking opportunities for vendors in an elegant Downtown Chicago setting.  For more information or to register, please click here.
