ROSELAND, N.J./April 27, 2012 -- The Essex County Bar Association (ECBA) will formally honor Connell Foley partner Brian G. Steller with the 2012 Walter A. Lucas Special Merit Award at its annual dinner on April 30, at the Pleasantdale Chateau in West Orange, N.J.

Candidates for the award are selected for their dedication to and passion for the Bar Association.

According to Connell Foley's Managing Partner Michael X. McBride, “Working with Brian, we have observed his commitment to the legal profession and to others. Through his activities with the Bar Association, he demonstrates his dedication to the legal profession. The Walter A. Lucas Special Merit Award is a fitting honor for his lifetime achievements. We congratulate him.”

Since beginning his career 30 years ago, Steller has established a reputation for perseverance and diligence in his capacity as a trial lawyer in representing his clients before state and federal courts, and for professionalism among his peers. In addition to contributions in his practice that focuses on insurance defense and coverage, professional and product liability, and corporate liability matters, he has created and lead initiatives in trial practice and developed significant continuing education programs.

Steller is a past president of the ECBA (2003-2004); he is the Immediate Past President of the Northern New Jersey Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and currently sits on the National Board of Directors for ABOTA, where he is also the Dean of the Trial College. Through his example, he has inspired new attorneys to become active and engaged members of the Bar Association.

During the April 30 event, new officers and trustees will be sworn in, including President-elect Robert C. Scrivo, Esq.
