Connell Foley partner, John Lacey, Delivers Lecture on Experts at Heckel Inn of Court

Connell Foley partner, John Lacey, presented a trial tactics lecture to the Willard C. Heckel Inn of Court at its March 2013 meeting.  The lecture, entitled "Expert Witnesses: Preparing the Direct and Cross-Examination," explored the various strategies used by this former federal prosecutor during his 24 years as a trial attorney on behalf of corporations and their executives in commercial litigation and in trials in both federal and state courts.  Said Lacey, "I have had the privilege to serve as a Master in the Heckel Inn of Court for many years and it is my distinct pleasure to mentor young attorneys who wish to serve the cause of justice."

Mr. Lacey  has been a Partner at Connell Foley for more than 20 years.  He began his career as Law Clerk to United States District Judge Charles L. Brieant, the former Chief Judge of the U. S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.  He later served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey, working at the time with Paul Fishman, who is the current U.S. Attorney for New Jersey, and Samuel A. Alito Jr., who now serves as an Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court.  Mr. Lacey, who also served as President of the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey,  represents corporations and corporate executives in complex commercial and general litigation in the federal and state courts; conducts internal investigations of corporate and employee misconduct; and represents corporations and their executives, athletes, political figures and others in white collar criminal investigations and prosecutions.
