ROSELAND, N.J./June 21, 2011 -- Connell Foley partner, Karen P. Randall, has been selected as the New Jersey State Chair for the Council on Litigation Management (CLM), a nonpartisan alliance comprised of thousands of insurance companies, corporations, corporate counsel, litigation and risk managers, claims professionals, and attorneys. The Council on Litigation Management seeks to create a common interest in the representation by firms of companies, and to promote and further the highest standards of litigation management in pursuit of client defense, through education and collaboration. Organization membership is extended only by invitation through nominations from CLM Fellows.

In her seat as N.J. State Chair for CLM, Randall will assist with the growth and development of the Council, establish and monitor local strategic affiliations, and foster communications locally. Randall will also coordinate with members to gather recommendations for Fellows (individuals who participate in litigation and the management thereof), nominations for Members (attorneys and law firms), and associations for potential strategic affiliations.

Within New Jersey, four Chairs will work in partnership on CLM activity in the state. During her term, Randall will be working to grow the role of the local group and extend greater opportunities to participate, by collaborating with two Fellows and two Members on CLM initiatives. Initial activity is directed at outreach within New Jersey, to those who have expressed interest in participating as delegates. Continuity is assured by overlapping terms; during restructuring, retiring State Chairs will participate within delegation committees, to recruit new Fellows and potential members, as well as plan organization events.

Randall, a Certified Civil Trial Attorney since 1992, focuses her practice on professional liability, commercial litigation, construction law, and class action defense. She has served in many local, state, and national leadership positions. She served as Chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association Insurance Benefits Committee. The American Bar Association appointed Randall numerous times to leadership positions, including Co-Chair of the Professional Liability, Director and Officer, and Emerging Issues Committees. As a Member of the Bergen County Bar Association, she served on the prestigious Judicial Performance Committee. Randall serves on the DRI Professional Liability Steering Committee. She has held key leadership roles in USLAW Network, serving as Chair of the Professional Liability practice group and National Chair. Randall has been recognized for several years as a Top 100 New Jersey Super Lawyer and a Top 50 Female Super Lawyer. Ms. Randall has lectured extensively on professional liability risk and management issues.
