McGovern, Shalit, Humphreys Managed Acquisition of Company and Technology

ROSELAND, N.J./June 2, 2009 -- Connell Foley’s Philip F. McGovern, Jr., Brad D. Shalit, and Noel D. Humphreys represented the buyer, a subsidiary of Fike Corporation, in its acquisition of the assets of axonX LLC, located in Sparks, Maryland. The principal assets of axonX LLC consisted of two patents and three patent applications related to technology for automated video camera fire detection. Fike Corporation has over 60 years’ experience manufacturing products ranging from bursting discs (ruptured discs) and oilfield products to explosion protection, fire suppression, and fire detection and control. Mr. McGovern’s practice focuses on real estate and land use, banking law and finance, and commercial litigation; Mr. Shalit’s practice focuses on taxation and estate planning and corporate law and transactions; and Mr. Humphreys’ practice focus is intellectual property and internet and information technology.
