Brad Shalit, a partner in Connell Foley’s Taxation & Estate Planning Group, will serve as a panelist at the New Jersey City University (NJCU) School of Business’ Institute for Dispute Resolution (IDR) Family Business Program “Redefining Risk for Family Businesses: Global Growth in the 21st Century." The program will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the NJCU School of Business in Jersey City, NJ.
Mr. Shalit and his co-presenters will discuss “Operating in a Minimized Risk Environment Internationally: Business Models and Structures of Ownership and Management, Financial Constraints, Investments, Estate Planning, Business Succession & Ownership.” The multi-disciplinary program is geared towards accountants, tax advisors, attorneys, estate planners, financial advisors, wealth managers, mediators, small to mid-sized businesses, and anyone who is interested in developing and promoting the growth of family businesses in New Jersey. Speakers will provide information that will help businesses and their customers and clients learn cost-effective and efficient ways of dealing with disputes with suppliers and customers and with intergenerational issues.
Opening remarks will be made by Honorary Steven Fulop, mayor of Jersey City; Dr. Sue Henderson, President of NJCU; and Michele Brown of Choose New Jersey. The program will then cover three panel discussions. The conference will conclude with remarks from Senator Sandra Cunningham and a keynote discussion with Senator Thomas Kean. Continuing education credits may be available.
