Karen Painter Randall, chair of Connell Foley’s Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Group and co-chair of the firm’s Professional Liability Group, and Steven A. Kroll, an associate in the Groups, co-authored the article “Getting Serious About Law Firm Cybersecurity” for the June 2016 issue of New Jersey Lawyer magazine. With cyber-attacks occurring at increasing frequencies and across a growing number of industries, the legal profession is not immune from the threat of a costly cyber incident. Ms. Randall’s and Mr. Kroll’s article examines the particular challenges and requirements imposed upon the legal profession in terms of protecting client data and ways to increase cybersecurity.
